How crew members can log a nitrogen application with one phone call.

How to log fertigation records with just your voice

A short walkthrough, from a finished application to an updated nitrogen budget.

The application is done. The crew member texts the manager: "UN32 on block B, 10 gallons an acre." Then the message sits there until someone has time to type it into the database.

This is where a lot of fertigation records go wrong. The work is accurate, but the record arrives late, gets re-entered by hand, or gets lost in a thread. By the time someone checks the season's nitrogen numbers, they're working from whatever made it into the system.

In this demo, Brittany Mumma, plays a crew member who has just applied UN32 on block B at 10 gallons per acre. She calls Tellia, says what she did, and the application is recorded.

What happens after one call?

From that single call, Tellia does the work that usually waits for the office:

  • It files the event in the nitrogen application table, against the right block.

  • It calculates the total gallons applied and the pounds of nitrogen that represents.

  • It checks the application against the season's nitrogen budget.

The manager can see how much nitrogen is left in the budget and what percent of the season's goal this one application covered. Nobody had to text, wait or retype anything.

Why nitrogen application records matter

Nitrogen decisions build on each other. The next application depends on what's already gone on. If the last two applications are still sitting in someone's texts, the budget is out of date, and so is every call made from it.

Clean records also matter when it's time to report. When nitrogen use has to be documented for a management plan, a buyer or an auditor, the records are already there, logged on the day it happened, by the person who did the work.

And it takes one step out of the crew's day. Saying what you did takes less time than texting it, and it means nobody has to type it in again later.

What changes when the record is made in the field

The person who did the application is the one who logs it, right when it happens. Totals are calculated automatically, so nobody does the math on a calculator at the end of the week. The budget stays current after every application.

Your crew already knows exactly what they applied. Tellia makes sure that information gets where it needs to go.
